Woman stands up to siblings after they refuse to share rooms with their kids during a family trip, forcing 70-year-old parents to sleep on the couch: 'This is ridiculous‘

While family trips can be a fun activity to do together once the kids are all grown up and have their own families, they are also a recipe for family drama. Having everyone together in a small space for more than a couple of hours can be great for bonding, but it usually brings more harm than good.

Unfortunately, I speak from experience. My lovely yet extremely delusional parents force my siblings and me to go on vacation together at least twice a year. They rent a cabin somewhere far away, and they have all 12 of us (husbands, wives, and kids included) cram inside for 2 to 3 nights. While I truly love my family, those trips are always a lot, and there are always at least a few fires they have to put out between us kids, not to mention the actual kids…

Still, as much as it is a challenge, families are important, and it's nice to have someone who fights for the family and cares about staying bonded.

  • The way I see it, the parents here are no different than mine. They care for their kids, they want the family to bond, and they would do anything to ensure that happens.

    The problem is, that the kids themselves don't seem to care as much for their parents, and they refuse to meet them halfway. All except one, the person who wrote this story. At least they have her to support then and stand up for what is right.
